A word from Kath M… quite a few words actually :) I am one of the newest members of the Jumbunna team. It seems that most staff have been here for many years which shows their dedication to their ‘craft’ and to your families, too. We moved here from outback South Australia, where red sand and flat land is the norm, very different to this beautiful green environment we now enjoy. I assist the Director, Karen, with a wide range of tasks that need to be done to maintain Jumbunna’…s high standard and to increase awareness and community engagement of the role Jumbunna plays in the lives of local families. The Jumbunna community – it’s families, the children and the staff have quickly become important to me. I see how needed the nurturing and support provided to many young families is, as some of their journeys here are not easy to take alone. Our team of teachers, therapists and childcare workers are always on hand to guide, support and advise. I like that Jumbunna takes its services to the community, visiting those remote areas where families don’t get the chance to interact often. Parents can attend programs that help them to raise healthy children, whilst increasing their parenting skills and meeting others. The children love to come to Jumbunna, they are genuinely excited when they arrive, this is a very cool place for children to play, learn and grow. Here, you see children become role models – they understand differences, learn compassion and consider others as they play, learn and grow together. As a grandma, it makes my heart sing to see the fun and hear the laughter of children and our staff, every day that I come to work. I am blessed to be a part of it. Thanks The photo is of grandparents day and I’m reading a story to the children…. Hamming it up, of course!
