A Word from Kathy Hi, I am Kathy Bruni I am the Administration Coordinator and I have been involved at Jumbunna for 30 years. My involvement began as Treasurer at St Marks Community Preschool (Jumbunna’s former name). My eldest son Scott first attended Jumbunna as a 3.5yr old and my other children Adam and Michelle have also attended the Centre. As the preschool and early intervention centre has evolved so has my position at Jumbunna. Initially all book work was hand written (Income/Expenditure Book) I used to buy tax stamps to pay the tax for staff wages! We also only had 5 staff at that time and wages were paid by cash, then changed to cheque and now it is all processed electronically for our 33 staff. Now, doesn’t that seem like it was in the dark ages, we are now computer orientated with financial programs, children’s data base program, government reporting programs and report writing. Since starting at Jumbunna I have completed several TAFE courses; I have a Certificate in Bookkeeping, Computer Administration as well as Certificate III in Business Administration. I am also on the Centre’s Policy Committee with other staff members where we review Policies on a yearly basis and play a role in meetings and programming days. As you are aware Jumbunna has a Social Media presence with their Facebook page and their new website which has also been a steep learning curve for our staff. The Administration office is manned by myself, Julie Leese and Taok Borserini and the office is instrumental in the day to day running of Jumbunna; Bonalbo, Sugartown and Stratheden Mobile Preschools. We support the Supported Playgroups, Intensive Parenting Program and the Outreach Programs. We deal with all the enrolment forms, fees, payments, newsletters, bookclub as well as numerous other requirements as needed. We support the Management Committee in any fundraising activity and prepare raffle tickets as required. A change for the Administration Office in the next year will be the roll out of the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme). The paper work seems never ending at times, but please beware that any form you are given to fill out, any question you are asked no matter how trivial to you can be vitally important to us in dealing with you or your child.
