ANZAC Day is coming….

ANZAC display at JumbunnaANZAC Day is coming….

ANZAC Day happens in the School holidays (Wednesday 25th April 2018). We have been working on a display at preschool to recognise the event in a small way. We are also grateful to Robyn Spruce and the RSL gentlemen who loaned us some props for the last week of term to display in our foyer area.

ANZAC Day is the most recognised day of remembrance and reflection for our country. Whilst it’s a time to recognise mateship and courage we also remember the sadness and lives lost through war – it’s very difficult but know what to tell young pre-schoolers.

At home, keep it simple, as always with kids, using language they’ll understand. Start by explaining that Anzac Day is a time to remember all the soldiers who went out to protect our country to making it a better place and to keep us safe and happy.

Baking Anzac biccies is a lovely thing to do together and there are some good books that may help – ANZAC Ted is a favourite here.
